Classes and Programs

Dear parents,
Here is a presentation of the classes and educational
programs of our
FLAM Little School ''Lumières de London Bridge'':

Preschool is the very first stage of schooling. It's a unique educational cycle focused on the child's emotional, social, sensory, motor, and cognitive development. Your child learns to speak in everyday situations. Our FLAM Early Childhood Education program adapts to their pace and helps them progress.

Preschool (3-4 years old)

Kindergarten (4-5 years old)

In Preschool, your child discovers numbers, shapes, and sizes, and their vocabulary expands. These two classes follow a common two-year program (early learning and craft activities, games, and oral expression). Activities are adapted to the students' abilities: primarily oral for the youngest children, they also encourage drawing and reading skills for the older children. A playful approach is used.

Objective: Learning a rich and varied vocabulary.

Kindergarten - Pre-Reading (Ages 5-6)

Reading skills are developed starting in preschool. From a very young age, your child discovers and adapts to their immediate environment.

Our FLAM (French Language and Culture) program helps them orient themselves in space and time using French. The Kindergarten curriculum includes learning the simple phonemes and graphemes of French.

The themes covered prepare children for first grade (the world of animals, plants, and objects).

Objective: A solid foundation in reading and writing to confidently begin first grade.

In grades 1-3 (CP, CE1, and CE2), your child consolidates fundamental skills: reading, writing, arithmetic, and respecting others.

Grade 1 (CP) - Year 2 (ages 6-7)

Our FLAM Petite École focuses on learning to read and write, which are developed together and mutually enrich each other. During writing activities, the teacher pays attention to posture, pencil grip, letter formation, and adherence to lines.

Objective: Formal reading instruction.

Grade 2 (CE1) - Year 3 (ages 7-8)

Introduction to grammar, conjugation, vocabulary, and spelling. Explanations of short texts.

Objective: Initial approach to grammatical analysis and writing techniques.

Year 4 (8-9 years old)

Reinforcement of concepts learned in Year 1: grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and conjugation. Introduction to geography, physics, and French history.

Objective: To build upon fundamental learning.

Year 5 (Ages 9-10)

Students receive and consolidate all previous learning, fill in any gaps, and extend their learning in the four language areas. Written expression techniques are emphasized. Basic concepts of French history and regional geography are introduced.

Objective: To consolidate knowledge of French and discover French culture.

Year 6 (Ages 10-11)

Reinforcement of concepts acquired in previous years and extension of learning.

Objective: To deepen knowledge of French.

Year 7 (Ages 11-12)

Completion of missing material, review and consolidation of acquired knowledge. Refresher courses in spoken and written French. Reading of topics from the Year 7 curriculum.

Objective: To address any remaining language gaps.

We remain at your disposal for any further information.
